Chile Recalls Ambassador: ‘Israel Does Not Respect International Law’

Chilean President Gabriel Boric said on Tuesday the country was recalling its ambassador to Israel for consultations after Israel’s violations of international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip.

Boric wrote in a post on social media platform X that “given the unacceptable violations of International Humanitarian Law that Israel has incurred in the Gaza Strip, as the Government of Chile we have resolved to call the Chilean ambassador to Israel, Jorge Carvajal, to Santiago for consultations.”

He added,

“Chile strongly condemns and observes with great concern that these military operations – which at this point in their development entail collective punishment of the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza – do not respect fundamental norms of International Law, as demonstrated by the more than eight thousand civilian victims, mostly women and children.”

Venezuela: Stop the Genocide

On Monday, Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro, reiterated on Monday his call for an end to the genocide carried out against the Palestinian people by Israel, TeleSur reported.

“We must demand, with one voice, an end to the genocide against the Palestinian people,” the Bolivarian leader stated.

“They want to exterminate the Palestinian people. It’s the same extermination plan that Adolf Hitler carried out against the Jewish people, and it was condemned by all of humanity,” Maduro added.

“I implore the world to raise their voices and put a stop to the extermination and violence against the Palestinian people.”

The Venezuelan president also highlighted that in various countries, numerous rallies have taken place in support of the Palestinian people, including Spain, the United States, France, Turkey, Colombia, Tunisia, Portugal, and Venezuela.
